Above you can find, KOICA's ongoing projects, in cooperation with different Peruvian entities. Always thinking about the 4 Ps (Person, Prosperity, Peace and Planet) and KOICA's motto "Leave no one behind", in development cooperation.



Ongoing projects


  • Emergency assistance project for covid-19 response in the Peruvian Amazon
  • (30 November 2020 as of December 31, 2021) $1,000,000.00 USD

    Objective : To provide necessary medical equipment including ambulances (river and land) as well as to carry out a regular training course for capacity building in relation to the operation and maintenance of equipment, contribute to the strengthening of health services for timely and quality care for patients with covid-19 and other diseases, mitigate the effects of covid-19 on the health of communities in the project area

  • Project for Invigorating ICT-based innovation and entrepreneurship
    (2020 - 2024) $8,000,000 USD

  • Objective : To strengthen ICT-based innovation and entrepreneurship and competitiveness in Lima, Arequipa and La Libertad through the improvement of innovation capacity and its system in Peru

    Partners : National Council of Science and Technology - CONCYTEC



  • Creation of solar energy-based bio-business model for the improvement of productivity in the amazon of Peru
    (2017 - 2022) $800,000.00

  • Improve the livelihoods of indigenous communities in the provincial of Datem del Marañon, in the Loreto region, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by implementing a solar power plant in that area.

  • E-trade facilitation project for peruvian export-import SMEs : e-PYMEX and VUCE-B2B
    (2014 - 2021) $5,000,000.00

  • Objective : To improve the competitiveness of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in foreign trade-related activities and to contribute to the facilitation of trade and sustainable economic growth in this sector.

    Partners : Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism - MINCETUR



  • Development of the integrated registry for the national cultural heritage management in Peru
    (2015 - 2022) $8,000,000.00

  • Objective : To provide an Integrated Information System of Peru's Cultural Heritage that allows the Ministry of Culture to register and manage its cultural heritage online, effectively and systematized

  • Improving Peru’s Mine Closure and Mining Environmental Liabilities Remediation Procedure in Support of SDG Achievement
    (2020 – 2025) $6,400,000

  • Objective : To enhance the resilience of the environment to manage mining activities and potential mining impacts by building technical capacity and raising awareness among the general public.

    Partners : Ministry of Energy and Mines – MINEM

    Volunteering Program

    In 2009 the government consolidated into one, Korean friends around the world (WFK, World Friends Korea), volunteering programs abroad, taking as a vision a better world through sharing and learning. Due to the situation of COVID19 the volunteer program has been in stand-by since 2020, and is currently seeking its re-structuring so that it can continue to support the development of the country. And, once the COVID situation improves, it is expected that the Korean volunteers can be dispatched again

    Scholarship Program, CIAT

    CIAT is a KOICA training program that aims to develop the capacity of partner countries by sharing Korea's development experiences and technical skills with policy makers, public officials and experts from various fields.
    It is divided into 3: Country-specific program, global program, and master's programs.
